Kentucky students may earn money for college with K.E.E.S. Kentucky students may earn money for college through the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (K.E.E.S.) program. The K.E.E.S .program rewards students for making good grades in high school and doing well on the ACT or SAT. The awards may be used upon graduation from high school, and no application is necessary. Students just enroll at an eligible college, and KHEAA will send their funds when the school verifies the students’ enrollment.   Students may use their K.E.E.S. awards at any public college or university in Kentucky, at nearly all private colleges and universities in the state and at many of the state’s trade schools.  Here’s how K.E.E.S. works: Students earn a K.E.E.S. award for each year of attendance at a certified Kentucky high school if they earn at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA). Students may also earn a bonus award for certain ACT or SAT scores.  Students who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches during any year of high school may earn additional K.E.E.S. by making qualifying scores on Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exams. There is no limit to the number of supplemental awards a student can receive. For more information about K.E.E.S. and for detailed statistics about the K.E.E.S. program, visit www.kheaa.com.

We are pleased to announce that Red Bird Mission School is back in session and thriving in the midst of a reduced budget, faculty, staff and services.  We are off to a great start and currently have 160 students enrolled in grades K-12.  Dr. O. Taylor Collins, the new Executive Director of Red Bird Mission, said it best when he said, "We will operate the school we can afford until we are able to afford the school we envision--a school for the formation of Christian leaders from the Cumberland Mountains."  We, as a school, are committed to our motto, "Enter to learn, leave to serve."
